I just got home from finishing my 2nd and last day of shooting for the movie “My Grief is my Own”. I’m tired and need to get to bed so I will post my information later after I get some sleep. I hope to have some pictures posted soon and will let you know when I do.

Today was the first day of shooting for the movie “My Grief is my Own” which I was an extra for. I had to wake up at 6am and be on set at 8:30am. Since the set was located at a warehouse in Oakland, I needed to get up early, get extra clothes rounded up and take BART over there. I don’t even get up this early for my day job and boy could I tell this morning. Having to wake up at 6am on a Saturday morning is not only unnatural but just plain wrong.

I landed a “extra” role in a small independent movie being filmed here in San Francisco. The movie is titled, “My Grief is my Own” and is being produced by A & I Pictures. I have a meeting to attend tomorrow (Wednesday) in order to go over what I need to wear, look like, where the shoot will take place and other such things. I’m hoping I’ll have some speaking parts but I’m not going to be holding my breath. Just good to get the experience and back in the saddle again. The shoot is planned for this weekend, other than that, I don’t know anything else.
iHealthRecord.org is a service run by Medem, a nonprofit founded in 1999 by the American Medical Association and six other medical societies. They offer free and secure services for patients to keep track of their health history and prescriptions. They are hoping, with offering these free services, more people will start to track and control their health records. With more patients doing this, the hope is it will start to pressure doctors into using paperless methods to track patient records and prescribe medications (and thereby reducing the estimated 50,000 to 100,000 deaths each year from medical errors).
Using the website, not only can you input your medical history, you can also carry around an ID card that in case of an emergency, any doctor can use the information on the card to look up your complete history before trying to treat you. You can also be kept updated if any drugs you happen to be taken are taken off the shelf for any reason.
My worse fear has always gotten a call that someone I care about is in the hospital and doctors are needing information that I do not have and they are not able to get to in time. I don’t want to put the people I care about in the same position so I will ensure I take control of my health records and provide a easy and secure way for this data to be shared if the time should arise.
Found an article about the United States’s dependency on oil and why Ronald Regan caused 9/11. ![]()
I came across this rant a while ago and I find myself going back every now and then to get another chuckle. Although this post is on another website, I’ve posted it here just in case it disappears. I want to have a copy for myself, so I can always make sure I have a laugh at the expense of the South.

OK, I’ve been looking at getting a Macintosh recently and have been checking out reviews and weighing my options. I was sent a link to a comparsion article.
After reading it and the comments, I started to have my own thoughts and decided to put them on paper…ok the web but you know what I mean.

Since I live in San Francisco, I see quite a lot of homeless. Of course not all homeless are beggars or choose to be homeless. However I can tell you that from what I’ve seen, they either choose to live on the street or have a drug problem.
When I have friends or family visit me, I do feel ashamed when we can’t walk two blocks without being asked for change from five different people. I also feel bad because my visitors (which don’t have much exposure to homeless) because they don’t feel safe. They aren’t aware that homeless people don’t beat you up and take your money. Those are called criminals and they don’t stand there asking for money. It’s just ignorance but still I feel ashamed. Why do they stand out there asking for money then? Because people give it to them. Giving them money is only keeping them on the streets.

I came across a NY Times Article about how gay and straight men react differently to human pheromones.
Seems like women and men produce different chemicals and these are interpreted by different parts of the brain. Instead of being related to the sex of the person it seems to be dependent of their sexual orientation. Of course it seems this is only with gay men and not gay women.
The estrogen-like compound, though it activated the usual smell-related regions in women, lit up the hypothalamus in men. This is a brain center that governs sexual behavior and, through its control of the pituitary gland lying just beneath it, the hormonal state of the body.
The male sweat chemical, on the other hand, did just the opposite; it activated mostly the hypothalamus in women and the smell-related regions in men. The two chemicals seemed to be leading a double life, playing the role of odor with one sex and of pheromone with another.
Dr. Savic has now repeated the experiment but with the addition of homosexual men as a third group. The gay men responded to the two chemicals in the same way as did women, she reports, as if the hypothalamus’s response is determined not by biological sex but by the owner’s sexual orientation.
Dr. Savic said she had also studied homosexual women, and had gathered “very interesting and somewhat complicated preliminary data.” Another researcher said that it did not matter that gay women were not included in Dr. Savic’s final report because they do not respond in the same way as gay men do.
While this is very interesting, I’m still confused why every one of my ex-girlfriends didn’t find my sweaty body sexy as hell.
This morning I woke up and instead of sending the same old virtual e-card to my mother for mother’s day, I figured I’d make her a card. Yeah, I may be cheap but I figure a handmade card from the heart is better than one that is store bought with someone else’s words on it.
However I am in California and my mom is in Arizona. So instead of making it and sending it to her, I figured I’d just put it up for her as well as others to read.
