Death in the Family

Death is a loud alarm clock. Death will wake you up and snap you to attention quicker than anything else. All of us are living our life, dealing with our problems and issues, when you get that phone call. The phone call that someone has passed away and left you forever. Death has a way of changing your perception. We ignore it most of the time, we don’t want to think about our death or death of others, so we push it away. Thus bills, work, automotive and other such problems take the place of what is the “worse” that can happen. I get angry at someone and never want to talk to them again, however it’s with death out of the equation. Add it back in and the thought of never talking to them again, never having the chance to talk to them, make things right or patch things up…motivates me (and I think others) to not give up so easily on people.

Like they say, without death, you cannot have life. I’m starting to realize that in order to have a full life you have to accept and know that death is and will happen to the ones around you and that you love. It is with this knowledge that keeps you from doing things you otherwise might do because you take them for granted.

What brings this up? Where are these thoughts coming from? This morning I got one of those phone calls. My mother called me to inform me that my grandmother (on my father’s side - only grandparent left alive) had passed away this morning. More to come when I get some time…

Remove ads in New Yahoo! Messenger

If you download the new Yahoo! Messenger with Voice (version 8.0), you’ll notice it now comes with little annoying ads. I came across a blog that details how to remove them fairly easy. Well easy for me but for those of you that do not know what the “Registry” is then it may be a little more scary.
