I finally got off my ass and took a picture of my scruffy look that I commented on earlier on here. I am currently letting my beard and hair grow out for a scene in my acting class (from a play named “Home Front”). Refer to the previous post about this.
It is getting difficult to manage my hair and not let it just go crazy. Gel is my friend (except when on stage - Vietnam Vets don’t use gel damnit!) I haven’t ever had a beard this long and realizing why. Although it’s annoying me, it is helping me with my scene as I really do feel close to being a bum. Hell, when I walk into Starbucks I’m getting more stares from people and I’m thinking it’s not because they think I’m good looking. I’m looking forward to finishing my scene so I can trim my hair and shave the beard. I’ll see if I can post a photo of me when wearing my Vietnam vet outfit that I wear on stage.
“Our object as an actor is to create a level of truth and believability with the characters we portray. If we succeed, then there is a connection between the character and the audience, You share very intimate moments — moments I wouldn’t share with you in real life. The line blurs.”
-Adrien Brody
Perhaps going back in time is possibly. Except it’s not done with some expensive, modified car or other equipment. Just a computer and an Internet connection. A friend of mine was surfing the web and I am assuming put my name into Google. Next thing I know I am getting an email with an URL to a student opinion page in my College paper in 1997. I go to the URL and memories come flowing back as if I’m standing there. I still remember where and how it happened.

Only in LA can a celebrity come in and no one take a second glance. Of course maybe they would have if it were Brad Pitt or another A list actor. I was sitting in Starbucks located in Burbank and Tony Cox came in. You don’t know the name but you’ll know the face. Been in Bad Santa and most recently Date Movie.
You may or may not know that I’m currently in an acting class. I am nearing the end of the first year and part of our “final” is a scene. I got my scene a few weeks ago and we have been working on it in class. Applying everything I have learned in class to this scene. We have finally started to work on blocking and dressing for the part. This is where things get interesting. At least to those that don’t know me or about my acting scene.
In my scene I’m a Vietnam vet that is having an all out fight with my sister. Because of this I’m not shaving and not cutting my hair. My hair is long, uncontrollable and starting to annoy me. But it’s all in the name of acting. Now if only everyone else knew that. They wouldn’t look at me like I was a wanna be bum or something.
I came across a video about a possible 9/11 cover up and/or the events that happened were possibly not the true events that happened on 9/11. The video makes for a very powerful argument but it’s interesting because it tries to lay claim to being "the truth" just as much as the government. Is it true? Is it a bunch of fragments of information taken out of context? Watch the video and see for yourself.

Since I decided to rebuild my website, I decided to use a different theme. Not only to make my website a little less 1990s but also I thought it would be a nice way to add some yet more knowledge into my brain. I was able to get WordPress installed easy and quick as it’s suppose to.
I installed the K2 theme and started to slowly install various plug-ins. I started to install new ones that I previously did not use because the theme supported them right out of the box.
You mean I don’t have to do anything to get it to work? I’m so there!
Everything was going great until I installed the FAlbum plug-in. For those of you that don’t know what the hell I’m talking about…if you view my Photo page, you will see various sets of photos. Everything on that page is generated by the FAlbum plug-in.
I installed it and it worked but the display was all off. My sidebar was not on the side as one would expect but instead below the photos. I tried all I could to figure it out…staying up till 3am, but to no avail. Finally I broke down and posted on the FAlbum forum, asking for help (you can see my thread if you desire).
After numerous tries and pulling mass amounts of hair out (I’m not saying where said hair was pulled) I finally figured it out. Ended up all I needed to do was to follow the developers tips on updating the K2 theme but instead make some minor modifications since K2 and FAlbum have both been updated. I then modified the FAlbum Wiki Page to contain the solution I figured out.
So, if you happen to be trying to get FAlbum working with K2 and having some problems, take a look at the FAlbum Wiki Page and it should save you some time and frustration.
Finally my photo page is fixed, working and is beautiful…now I just need to take some time to grow that damn hair back.
You may have noticed that my website is fairly naked when it comes to content. I was playing around with some code and ended up doing something bad enough that fixing it would require more time than just building it back from scratch.
I still have my previous content so that will be put back up over the weekend. This time I’m going to be a little more careful, at least I hope so!
