I am finally metal free! I have just gotten my braces off today. First a little back story.

Office and the City

It’s been so long since I’ve been in the office much less the city. I’ve forgotten what it is like to interact with co-workers. What it’s like to be able to chat about a problem for a few minutes or simply catch up on what someone has going on in their life. Until telecommuting can solve that problem, there will always been a need for humans to be in the office. No matter what technology is invented to allow people NOT to be in a central office, they will still PREFER it. Simply because humans are social creatures. Even if when we are in the office we wish to be home, once we have been for some time, we long again for being around people in the office.

Earlier I was riding Bart and noticed that chivalry has all but disappeared. When did it become OK for men to sit while women stand holding onto the handrails? Is it because of the feminist movement or do men simply don’t care anymore? It was nice to see ONE guy get up for a woman that got on that had a broken foot. If this had been the 50’s or maybe even the 60’s all the men would have been standing and allowing the women to sit. Perhaps we guys just don’t know what we are suppose to do. Do we show chivalry or simply treat every woman as if she is no different than a guy?

Honestly I think if we had more example of chivalry we’d be living in a more caring and understanding world instead of one that is so selfish and self centered. Can I go back to the 50’s? Oh but I want to take my iPhone! ;)

Disfigured

I was surfing the net one day and came across this independent film and thought it looked interesting. It’s about the unlikely friendship between two women that seem to be on the polar opposite sides of body issues but eventually realize they have much more in common that they first thought.

These are the type of movies that I wish Hollywood would make more of and that made me want to become an actor.
