Loving Someone

Love from another adult does more than just satisfy us in the present. It ripples back in time for us, repairing, restoring and renovating an inadequate past. Sincere love also sets off a forward-moving ripple and a resultant shift inside us. We get to the point where we can think: "Now I don’t have to need quite so much. Now I don’t have to blame my parents quite so much. Now I can receive love without craving more and more. I can have and be enough." Only the person whose journey has progressed to that point can love someone intimately.

Quote about an actor and the audience

“Our object as an actor is to create a level of truth and believability with the characters we portray. If we succeed, then there is a connection between the character and the audience, You share very intimate moments — moments I wouldn’t share with you in real life. The line blurs.”

-Adrien Brody

Giving the Devil a ride

“Never give the devil a ride. Because if he likes the ride, pretty soon he’ll want to drive.”

Beliefs

“I think it’s better to have ideas. You can change an idea. Changing a belief is trickier. Life should be malleable and progressive; working from idea to idea permits that. Beliefs anchor you to certain points and limit growth; new ideas can’t generate. Life becomes stagnant.”

Boobs

“Boobs will get peoples’ attention, intelligence will move their eyes to your own.”
