I remember when I was a kid and would go shopping with my mom. While we were there we would always ask for a toy and maybe this snack or that. But one that stands out in my mind is these smoothie packets. It was so great to drink and was nothing but some of the greatest memories as a child.
Now as an adult, I read the nutrition info. My God! My mom was feeding this to her kids! She must have hated us and tried to give us heart attacks at the tender age of 8!

I’ve recently had a break up of a very long relationship. No need to go into details. We both love (or loved) each other but there were trust issues on both sides that ultimately ended it. What hurts me the most is we had been in a relationship long enough that there was talk of buying a house together and even kids.
I know…I was surprised as well. Not only that those topics were brought up but also that I was considering it.
What I can’t help but think is what would have happened to my relationship if there was a home/marriage and kids involved? Would they have saved my relationship or simply kept me in a bad situation longer than I should have been?

It’s been so long since I’ve been in the office much less the city. I’ve forgotten what it is like to interact with co-workers. What it’s like to be able to chat about a problem for a few minutes or simply catch up on what someone has going on in their life. Until telecommuting can solve that problem, there will always been a need for humans to be in the office. No matter what technology is invented to allow people NOT to be in a central office, they will still PREFER it. Simply because humans are social creatures. Even if when we are in the office we wish to be home, once we have been for some time, we long again for being around people in the office.
Earlier I was riding Bart and noticed that chivalry has all but disappeared. When did it become OK for men to sit while women stand holding onto the handrails? Is it because of the feminist movement or do men simply don’t care anymore? It was nice to see ONE guy get up for a woman that got on that had a broken foot. If this had been the 50’s or maybe even the 60’s all the men would have been standing and allowing the women to sit. Perhaps we guys just don’t know what we are suppose to do. Do we show chivalry or simply treat every woman as if she is no different than a guy?
Honestly I think if we had more example of chivalry we’d be living in a more caring and understanding world instead of one that is so selfish and self centered. Can I go back to the 50’s? Oh but I want to take my iPhone!
Recently I started to think what were relationships like. I came up with renting. I know, not quite as insightful or earth shattering as you might have expected. Perhaps this isn’t a giant mystery to some people but for whatever reason I never realized it before.

To understand who someone really is, witness how they treat someone that has hurt them.
Just wanted to wish everyone a happy 4th of July and hope everyone walks away from this holiday with all their fingers and toes in the correct places. Oh yeah and with a better understanding of being an American…blah…blah…blah.
Now let’s go blow something up!
OK, I’ve been looking at getting a Macintosh recently and have been checking out reviews and weighing my options. I was sent a link to a comparsion article.
After reading it and the comments, I started to have my own thoughts and decided to put them on paper…ok the web but you know what I mean.

Since I live in San Francisco, I see quite a lot of homeless. Of course not all homeless are beggars or choose to be homeless. However I can tell you that from what I’ve seen, they either choose to live on the street or have a drug problem.
When I have friends or family visit me, I do feel ashamed when we can’t walk two blocks without being asked for change from five different people. I also feel bad because my visitors (which don’t have much exposure to homeless) because they don’t feel safe. They aren’t aware that homeless people don’t beat you up and take your money. Those are called criminals and they don’t stand there asking for money. It’s just ignorance but still I feel ashamed. Why do they stand out there asking for money then? Because people give it to them. Giving them money is only keeping them on the streets.

This morning I woke up and instead of sending the same old virtual e-card to my mother for mother’s day, I figured I’d make her a card. Yeah, I may be cheap but I figure a handmade card from the heart is better than one that is store bought with someone else’s words on it.
However I am in California and my mom is in Arizona. So instead of making it and sending it to her, I figured I’d just put it up for her as well as others to read.

I recently bought a new iPod mini. I’ve resisted for so long since I have one of the first Windows based iPods (10GB version). I’ll admit I felt a little cooler than everyone else when I pull out my older iPod. It’s my way of telling people, I knew iPod was a cool thing when you were still in diapers. Oh ok, well maybe it wasn’t that long ago but it is in technological years.
So I decided to buy myself a new iPod mini because I really want to listen to my iPod while I’m working out. My older model is just too heavy to use it while doing physical activity. The new mini’s are slightly bigger in disk space (6GB instead of 4GB), light, available in stronger colors (meaning more “manly” colors) than just all around cool.
